Description
Commissioned work.
This took around 12 hours, over a couple days to complete.
There wasn't much detail in the original photo. The hair was mainly shadow so I had to improvise most of it...this is the best I could do. I tried my hardest on this to get it right as the woman who commissioned this piece informed me the portrait is of her son who died in Iraq.
My scanner has left this looking quite harsh...in reality the portrait looks a lot smoother.
Comments and views are welcomed.
Faber Castell & Mechanical Pencils.
Blending stumps, tissue, cotton pads and q-tips for blending and shading.
White gel pen for little highlights in the eyes etc.
Kneaded eraser, block eraser and click-pen eraser.
Pencil's & stuff I use for portraits
