"Beneath the makeup and behind the smile I am just a girl who wishes for the world." - Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn Monroe.

This took around 20 hours, over a couple weeks to complete.

I decided to draw Miss Monroe as I recently read a biography about her, it was pretty sad. :(
I'm overall quite pleased with the piece, drawing Marilyn is somewhat daunting as I believe she is one of the most beautiful
women to have ever lived so getting her face right took a lot of patience and a lot of re-arranging. I'm still not
completely pleased with it, but it's the best I could get it.
My favourite part is the ribbon necklace thing, I thought it would be difficult to do but I found it really easy. :la:

I really liked the line you did for the top of her left shoulder [facing us on the right side] as it bends in towards her face. coupled with the shading it stand outs quite emphatically. Did you have a source picture you were using? because out of all the shots i've seen of Ms. monroe this seems a little off in that she's a little more angular than she was... but that may be just my perception...

fantastic work by the way u r a master at ur craft!
